David F. Jarrard, MD and Bing Yang, PhD win 2017 WARF Innovation Award

Professor David F. Jarrard, MD and Researcher Bing Yang, PhD won the 2017 WARF Innovation Award for developing a molecular-based method to diagnose prostate cancer in a biopsy from non-tumor associated tissue. This could reduce the numbers of biopsy cores taken from patients as well as the need for repeat biopsies. The winners were selected from 380 invention disclosures submitted to WARF over the past 12 months and received $10,000 to further their research. The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) is the independent, nonprofit organization that works to protect and commercialize campus discoveries.
