On May 19th Wisconsin Urology Alumni gathered for a reception during the annual AUA conference in San Francisco. The highlight of the event was presenting Dr. Thomas Gasser with the second annual Reginald C. Bruskewitz Distinguished Alumni Award. Dean of the Medical Faculty at University of Basel, Switzerland, Dr. Gasser attended and graduated Medical School at the University of Basel (1983) where he completed his general surgery rotations at Kantonsspital Basel, Switzerland. In 1986, he was a Urological Research Fellow at the University of Wisconsin. He completed his Urologic Residency in 1987 at Kantonsspital Basel, was hired there as Assistant Professor, and went on to become a Full Professor and Chairman of their Department of Urology. In 2011, he became President of the Swiss Urological Association. Since 2015, he has been an active Dean of the Medical Faculty at the University of Basel.
