Sara L. Best, MD has received funding as the site Principal Investigator for a Veterans Affairs (VA) collaborative study: “A multi-modal, physician-centered intervention to improve guideline-concordant prostate cancer imaging”. Dr. Danil V. Makarov, MD, MHS of the VA New York Harbor Health Care System received a Merit award to fund this study and is the lead PI. The William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital (Madison, WI) is one of 10 VA medical centers across the country participating in this trial, which has the potential to improve the quality of care for men newly diagnosed with prostate cancer while reducing unnecessary costs to the health system.
