We are proud to welcome Dr. Petra Popovics, PhD, to the UW-Madison Department of Urology! Dr. Popovics recently completed a K12 award focused on the role of Osteopontin in lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD) under the mentorship of Drs. Will Ricke and Chad Vezina. Dr. Popovics joined the department as an Assistant Scientist in January 2021. She recently obtained a 5-year NIH K01 Scientist Development Award titled “Osteopontin: A Novel Mediator of Prostatic Inflammation and Fibrosis” to investigate strategies for therapeutic management of LUTD.
