The UW Department of Urology’s Urologic Oncology Section was well represented at the 25th Annual Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO) National Meeting in Dallas, Texas. Held December 4-6, 2024, this year’s SUO national meeting featured discussions led by internationally renowned urologic oncologists, medical oncologists, and scientists on state-of-the-art translational topics on prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer, along with strategies in urologic oncology.
UW Urology faculty members David Jarrard, MD, E. Jason Abel, MD, Daniel Shapiro, MD, Mike Risk, MD, and Elizabeth Koehne, MD, and our current urologic oncology fellow, Paz Lotan, MD – as well as past UW urologic oncology fellows, Marcelo Bigarella, MD, (2022-24), Ashanda Esdaille, MD, (2020-2022), and Mike Blute, MD (2014-2016) – attended the conference.
Presenting from the DOU team were Dr. Abel – who was an invited expert on a panel discussing “Challenging Cases in Renal Cell Cancer” – and Dr. Lotan, who presented three abstracts on his renal cell carcinoma research projects at UW.
