Bushman joins AUA Research Advocacy Committee

Wade Bushman, MD, PhD, professor and vice chair for research and academic affairs in the University of Wisconsin Department of Urology, will join the American Urological Association (AUA) Research Advocacy Committee. The mission of the committee is “to effectively champion for public, private, and philanthropic support of urologic research by energizing and synergizing with all stakeholders.” Three major initiatives the committee is actively pursuing includes NIHadvocacy, congressional advocacy, and patient advocacy for research.

The AUAResearch Advocacy Committee is typically composed of 12 scientists, from a spectrum of basic through clinical research backgrounds, dedicated to increasing opportunities for urology researchers.

Dr. Bushman’s research interests include clinical research in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (BPH/LUTS) and basic research in prostate development and prostate cancer.
