Dr. Grimes receives NIH K12 Institutional Career Development award

Dr. Matthew Grimes received a NIH K12 Institutional Career Development award effective July 1, 2020. This award, through the UW School of Veterinary Medicine’s K12 Urologic Research Career Development Program, will support the development of Dr. Grimes’ research program under the co-mentorship of Dr. Wade Bushman and Dr. Chad Vezina (Veterinary Medicine).

The aim of Dr. Grimes’ research is to define the molecular pathogenesis of lichen sclerosus related urethral stricture disease, with the long-term goal of developing minimally invasive and non-surgical alternatives for treatment of this debilitating condition.
